Optimizing the Management of Medical Inventory to eliminate both Inefficiency and Corruption in Healthcare

A centralized information system has been developed to track every box of medical drugs and devices in Ukraine, from the moment they enter the country to their final usage.

Information about Our Client:

The client for the system is the Ministry of Health and the Medical Procurement Department of Ukraine.

Situation (problematic):

The main problem lies in the inefficient use of funds for the procurement of medical equipment and drugs, as well as the high risk of corruption and the trade of counterfeit goods.

Our solution:

A modular system has been developed to automate the process of collecting data on hospital needs, integrate with existing medical information systems, and create a centralized database to control the entire lifecycle of medical equipment and drugs.

Functional:

Collection of needs from hospitals.
Integration of data with the state MedData system.
Management of procurement processes.
Monitoring the distribution and usage of both medical drugs and equipment.

Technologies used for the solution:

Java, Angular
Integrated medical information systems.
We used the so-called two-component solution architecture: the connection of the central database and the connection of medical information systems for communication with end users (hospitals and medical units)
Modular approach to development and implementation

Business result:

Improved use of state funds for the procurement of medical drugs and equipment. Reduced risk of corruption and sale of counterfeit drugs. Ensuring transparency and control throughout the process of managing medical supplies.
